We Few. We Happy Few.
Lean & Hungry Theater got its start in 2006 in Washington, DC.
We
use readers’ theater and radio drama to make Shakespeare make
sense to audiences of all ages.
Lean & Hungry performs in the Church of St. Stephen and the
Incarnation in the Columbia Heights neighborhood of Washington, DC. We
support the mission and charter of the church St. Stephen and the
Incarnation, but our company is separate from the church.
We reach out to the community on our own, too, with special
performances and workshops that get people involved in
Shakespeare’s plays and what they’re really all
about.
Lean & Hungry brings professional readers’ theater to
underserved areas. We’ll set up anywhere there’s
space
– to add to the educational and cultural enrichment of
students,
seniors, families and other interested groups in Washington, DC and
beyond.
